A Look Back At My Fave Rentals

As I’m sure many will agree, 2020 had the potential to be one of the best years yet. Taking one look at my Hirestreet wish list, it was likely to be my best dressed too! Alas, my event-filled Spring calendar has been postponed until further notice, so what better time than now to pay homage to my fave past outfit rentals?!

    Winona Broadway Mini Emerald Dress

My 25th Birthday Party dress! Nothing says birthday girl quite like a sequin number…

I had been dying to wear this dress in silver for months but it was constantly booked out, so when we bought it in Emerald I made sure to book it months in advance! And of course, it didn’t disappoint!

The wrap style with tie belt was super easy to wear and incredibly flattering. Simply paired with black sock boots and a glowy makeup finish!

Finders Keepers Yasmine LS Fuchsia Dress

I loved wearing this mini so so much! I wore it for a Hen party paired with high black boots and a clutch. The stunning fuchsia pink (with slight sheen), high neck and ruched tie skirt detail made it the #1 party piece!

Finders Keepers Navy Gabriella Mini Dress

Another mini from Finders Keepers (in fact this is only the second of many – clearly Finders are my fave Hirestreet brand by a mile)!

I wore this for dinner in Luxembourg, and despite the pic being with strappy heels, I actually paired with tights and black sock boots (it was bloody freezing). I’d like to think it’s looked equally great with both, since the dress does all the work itself. Understated, feminine and playful… such a classic!

    Finders Keepers Champagne Gabriella Dress

Yeah I wasn’t kidding about the Finders Keepers obsession… I am in love with every single one of their dresses. Their elegant silhouettes, seasonal colours and high quality fabrics are always are winner!

I wore this beautiful midi for my 25th birthday dinner, simply paired with drop pearl earrings and black strappy heels.

Never Fully Dressed Red/Pink Print Victoria Dress

The bright fun contrast floral print was certainly an eye catcher in a grey January Copenhagen. So easy to wear, and perfect for all body shapes. NFD also have lots of videos on their insta showing different ways to tie this dress which I LOVE, such a great way to change up a the look depending on the occasion!

    Topshop Summer Floral Midi Dress

Remember the scorching and sweaty Summer of 2019? This easy breezy floral midi worn with trainers was the perfect day to night number, looking equally chic for meetings and then for afterwork drinks with the girls. I could have easily worn this dress everyday of summer.

    Finders Keepers Tia Dress

This dress, in my opinion, is so underrated. It’s a super stretchy material that extenuates and tucks for the best silhouette imaginable. Also super versatile, worn here with a leather jacket and heeled sock boots for a bit of chic, but literally 2 mins before this pic was taken I paired it with a fluffy cropped white jumper and trainers.

Keepsake The Label Vision Midi Dress

I probably took the biggest risk with this dress as it is very unlike anything I would typically wear. But that is where the beauty of renting outfits comes in, the ability to experiment with different styles to usual, and normally it pays off! Which I feel it really did in this case.

The details on this dress are incredible, with delicate floral embroidered overlay, gem buttons and wide stiff collar. Worn for my uncles winter wedding, I paired with an embellished hairband, wine slingback courts and a dark green fur.

Dancing Leopard Green Wrap Midi Dress

One of my first Hirestreet rentals, I wore this wrap dress for my friends birthday evening, where we went to see The Lion King at The WestEnd (animal print, how fitting!?)

Super easy to wear and easy to dress up and down, I wore with trainers before switching into black heeled sock boots for dinner and drinks. It’s no wonder this was one of Hirestreet’s all time top rented, meaning it truly maxed its lifetime and unfortunately we no longer stock it on Hirestreet. That said, we still have it in red which I can’t wait to wear too!

Gold Satin Maxi With Back Detail

Another dress that we unfortunately no longer stock on Hirestreet due to how popular it was, and for good reason!

I wore this to an awards dinner, with minimal accessories (let the dress do the talking), and truly felt a million dollars all night. Someone even told me they were reminded of Charlize Theron in the Dior advert… even if that was the complementary bubbles talking, I will take that compliment any day!

    Topshop Zebra Stripe Skater Dress

I would probably never have chosen this dress if it wasn’t for seeing Izzy wearing it a few weeks earlier, animal print isn’t usually my thing. But after receiving I don’t know how many compliments, I’m starting to think zebra print may be totally underrated.

The high neck, long sleeves and skater skirt made this such an easy and flattering shape to wear. Paired again with tights and black boots for a chilled but chic vibe.

Side note, after wearing this dress I was truly converted to the concept of rental… it was actually my boyfriend at the time that expressed how much he loved seeing me wear (and rock) so many styles that he never expected!

    Bardot Turquoise Lisandra Midi Dress

Ladies Day classic! I love the shape and colour of this dress so much and found it so flattering. Paired with a simple strappy heel, fascinator and champagne cooler bag. Oh and did I mention we were featured in the local paper’s best dressed section…

    LEXI Sahar Dress In Red

As soon as this dress arrived on Hirestreet it went straight in my wish list just waiting for an occasion to wear it. I finally got the chance for a business awards dinner and felt so incredible all night!

As always I went for minimal accessories as I felt the dress was a statement in itself, but unlike usual I went for a curled up-do to really accentuate the neckline.

One comment on this dress is I would recommend wearing a size smaller than usual as it has quite a lot of stretch to it. It is also quite roomy on the bust so may need some added fillers.

V-Neck Red Polka Dot Navy Mini Dress

Unfortunately this dress was so popular last year that it came to the end of its life cycle and is no longer stocked on Hirestreet. Fortunately for me, I got to wear it before that happened!

Worn for a friends birthday night out, the balloon sleeve, plunging neckline and red polka detail made it such a fun party number! LOVE LOVE LOVE

    Runaway Ditsy Yellow Lemon Dress

Another Summer19 classic, I felt so cute and girly in this mini lemon with drawstring tie detail and puff sleeves. Worn to Notting Hill Carnival with trainers, the lightweight fabric was perfect in that sticky heat.

Jules, the hun to my right, is also repping Hirestreet. Wearing The Keepsake The Label Red Lace Mini Dress paired with trainers again for that effortless summer chic look. Twinning!

    Finders Keepers Breezeblocks Papaya Jumpsuit

Despite not usually being a jumpsuit girl (I find they usually don’t suit my shape – I’ve got quite wide hips and a chunky ass while being quit small on top), I really loved this from Finders Keepers!

The wide leg was super flattering and easy to wear, and the tie cut out top detail made it adjustable to my shape which was perfect! I also loved the colour – which doesn’t show up well on this pic – but was in between rust and salmon, super different to anything I would usually choose.

One Fell Swoop Peacock Dada Mini

Worn to a Formal Awards Party, this mini dress is like nothing I’ve ever worn or seen before. The satin feel and iridescent finish felt so luxurious, and the clinched waist made it extremely flattering!

Side note: would highly recommend investing in some boob tape to ensure you don’t flash everybody on the dance floor after being supplied with champagne on tap!

    Bardot Black Brody Mini Dress

I was pleasantly surprised by this mini as I didn’t think it looked like anything special on the website.

The large puff shoulders were all that was needed to turn this simple mini shirt dress into a statement piece, perfect for an understated Copenhagen Fashion Week look. Worn with tights, chunky winter boots and pearl hair clips.

Topshop Rust Cowl Back Satin Slip Dress

There’s really nothing more easy to wear and flattering than a simple satin slip dress. And what I love about this one is the gorgeous colour and cowl cross back detail.

Worn here over a plain white tee with flat-form trainers. I’m also dying to wear it in baby blue dressed up with heels for a summer garden party!

    Finders Keepers Catalina Pantsuit

After saying I’m not a jumpsuit person, I’ve realised that I have loved all of the jumpsuits I have rented from Hirestreet. What they all have in common is their their wide leg style and adjustable top, which is perfect for my shape, and they all happen to be from my favourite brand Finders Keepers!

This number is so unique, with its slightly embossed snake print detail and thin crossover tie back detail. Worn with strappy heels (in snakeprint again – oops!) and droplet earrings.

That angel to my left is my gorgeous best friend Jen, and no we don’t currently rent angel costumes on Hirestreet…

French Connection Aatami Emebellished T-Shirt Dress

Another dress that I was pleasantly surprised by. Worn for our Hirestreet Christmas Party, I wanted to sparkle but not feel too over the top, and this dress absolutely delivered!

French connection dresses are always such high quality, with this heavy weighted sequin number being no exception. Most importantly of all, the t-shirt style was so comfortable and perfectly covered my bloated post turkey tummy!
