The Top Rated Face Masks to Try Right Now

What better idea than relieving some of that stress with a pamper night? Run a bath, light a candle, find your new binge-worthy tv show and pop on a face mask while all your worries drift away. We all know that stress can take a toll on our skin, so let’s give it some extra love whilst we have the time and lets leave lockdown looking 10 years younger. Here are some you NEED to try……..

    Sheet Masks

NEUTROGENA Hydro Boost Hydrating Hydrogel Mask

Full disclosure: the entire Hydro Boost range from Neutrogena is a firm favourite of mine, however – I’m yet to find anyone that doesn’t love this mask. It’s a sheet mask and therefore is easy application but, unlike most drugstore sheet masks, contours your face and allows for deep penetration into the skin which leaves a supple, hydrated and dewy look to the skin. This mask is also non-comedogenic which means it will not block your pores and is the reason it works with so many different skin types.

    111SKIN Bio Cellulose Treatment Mask

If you’ve heard of 111SKIN, you will know that their formulas are developed by “space-scientists” and they are the go-to range for skin-savvy celebrities, beauty editors and skin care obsessives alike. Therefore, the price tag is more on the high-end of the scale. This sheet mask has extremely fine fibres which, similar to the Neutrogena Mask, allows the moisture to lock into the skin and increase product penetration even further. This mask brightens complexions and nourishes the skin, but what separates it from the drugstore competition is that it also stimulates collagen production for skin elasticity.

    Charcoal Masks

THE ORDINARY Salicylic Acid 2% Masque

I am yet to try a product from The Ordinary that I don’t enjoy, whether it be makeup or skincare. This is their first mask, it has a jelly-like texture but contains charcoal as well as other clays, which ensures it deeply cleanses pores of impurities to leave skin clearer. It is also enriched with Salicylic Acid which is a gentle exfoliant that unclogs pores and reduces inflammation to make your skin smoother and more radiant. Aimed towards congested, blemish-prone skin types.

THE BODY SHOP Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask

The Body Shop as a brand is often overlooked by skin care fanatics as it is more readily available however they do have some amazing products that should be mentioned. One of which is this charcoal face mask. It draws out impurities in the skin and the tea tree oil helps to refine the appearance of pores which helps the skin look healthy and glow. A 15ml pot can be purchased for £6 if you want to test it out. Once you fall in love (which I guarantee you will) the full size product is good value for a gorgeous regular at-home facial.

    GLAMGLOW Supermud Clearing Treatment

In a conversation about face masks, it is impossible not to mention GLAMGLOW. Taking the beauty world by storm, their website is worth checking out as they have many high-end masks targeted to specific skin concerns. Without a doubt this charcoal mud mask is their most popular. The activated charcoal helps lift dirt, toxins and excess oil out of the skin to purify pores. It also contains a blend of six acids which work to exfoliate dead skin cells leaving your skin fresh and smooth.

    Smoothing Masks

    DRUNK ELEPHANT T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial™

So this face mask is likely to be way out of most people’s budgets (including mine) but the impression it has left on the beauty community cannot be ignored. It is formulated to gently exfoliate the pore lining and resurfaces by getting rid of built-up dead skin cells. It reveals improved skin texture and tone as well as a youthful radiance. I love skincare and from everything I have read – this product does exactly what it claims. It is a luxury but if you ever feel like treating yourself, you will not find a higher recommended product.

THE ORDINARY AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution

If you don’t have a spare £100, this dupe by The Ordinary is supposed to be very similar (both in terms of ingredients and results) and won’t break the bank. The vivid colour comes from the addition of Tasmanian pepperberry which reduces inflammation and black carrot as an antioxidant. AHAs exfoliate the top layer of your skin for a more even and radiant appearance, while BHAs deeply exfoliate to clear pores. This Peeling Solution helps battle blemishes and boosts radiance. However, just a warning that due to the use of acid exfoliation it should not be used on sensitive skin.
